Tügva Higher Education Scholarship
Turkey Youth Foundation always supports young students who intend to excel themselves and are successful in their studies but are in need of monetary support. With our scholarship support, we aim to provide the relatively disadvantaged students an equal opportunity for their academic studies, to help them prosper and be more productive in their studies with a higher self-esteem and trust in their ability to serve for this country.

We accept the donations of individuals or institutions who want to help support the students in need, and act as an intermediary between these two parties.

Qurbani is one of the most beautiful examples of submission to and trust in Allah and is the peak in worship and servitude. Prophet Abraham sees in his dream that he sacrifices his own son Ishmael to Allah and tells about it to his son. Prophet Ishmael answers his worries with saying “O my father! Do as thou art commanded: thou will find me, if Allah so wills one practicing Patience and Constancy!”. They submitted to Allah and agreed to conduct his command. Prophet Abraham took his son Prophet Ishmael to Mina and put his head down to a rock, in full submission. Nevertheless, the blade was hitting Ishmael’s neck but it was not cutting through, as a miracle from Allah. Allah said:  “O Abraham! Thou hast already fulfilled the vision! Thus indeed do We reward those who do right. For this was obviously a trial – And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice.” (Saffat 99-107) Qur’an says “Their meat will not reach Allah, nor will their blood, but what reaches Him is piety from you.” referring to the Qurbani sacrificed for Allah. (Al-Haj- 37) Therefore, Qurbani is the sign of the submission and dedication of the believers to Allah.

Eid Al-Adha is the celebration for the submission and dedication to Allah, and a festival. You can be part of this celebration and donate your Qurbani to the dormitories of Turkey Youth Foundation. Your donation will be used in to serve their needs.

Our aim is to make it possible for the public to help support the young generations, who will work for the benefit of this country and this ummah.

In surah Tawbah, verse 60, Allah has given us the groups of people that we can give our Zakah to: “Zakah expenditures are only for the poor and for the needy and for those employed to collect [zakah] and for bringing hearts together [for Islam] and for freeing captives [or slaves] and for those in debt and for the cause of Allah and for the [stranded] traveler – an obligation [imposed] by Allah. And Allah is Knowing and Wise.”

The expression “for the cause of Allah” is interpreted as many things by scholars, among which are students of knowledge, alms-giving and charity organizations.

What is Zakat?
Zakat is the act of alms-giving conducted by Muslims and given to the people in need, who are considered to have their share in our commodity. The need for such a conduct is specifically stated by Qur’an at least for 30 times and our Dear Prophet Muhammed (pbuh)’s Hadith.

Socially, Zakat has the function to balance the difference between the poor and the rich.

The literal meaning of Zakat is “increase, reproduction, purification and barakah”.
